"I took this image while investigating natural product production from Streptomyces lividans carrying metagenomic DNA libraries. It shows the bacterium Streptomyces lividansproducing the red antibiotic prodigiosin and the blue antibiotic actinorhodin in response to fungal growth. This image demonstrates the native metabolic potential of the natural product rich bacterial genus, Streptomyces."
