This image shows plastic nanostructures synthesized in the laboratory in order to use them as sensors for detecting cellular growth. I collected the image in order to study structure-property relationships between nano and microscale architectures applied to cellular adhesion. One of my research goals is to develop new nanostructured soft materials for sensing and controlling cellular growth. Such images guide my research efforts for making better biomaterials.
