Art and Science in a Chemical Reaction, Image B

"I've been interested in combined art and science for quite a while; this image was created while trying to simulate diffusion-reaction algorithms and determine what sets of parameters would create shapes and patterns ideal for art. The image shows the pattern resulting from a simulated chemical reaction. The simulation begins with two chemicals (colored black and purple); the two chemicals then diffuse through the digital medium and react according to simulated chemical reaction. The combination of creation/destruction of material due to a chemical reaction and the movement of it due to diffusion creates the interesting pattern.
